Home Fellowship Groups

We believe spiritual growth flows out of two basic commitments:

To help develop these significant relationships, we have created "Home Fellowship Groups". We see these groups as essential to our ministry. It is our goal to have every member of our church involved in either a Home Fellowship Group or another similar small group experience. Some groups are sermon-based while others are focused on a topic, book of the Bible or special interest (like parenting or marriage).

These home Bible study groups meet weekly to share, to study God's Word and to support one another spiritually.

What is a Home Fellowship Group?
A Home Fellowship Group is made up of 10 to 16 people who meet weekly to share with, study with and support one another. A trained leader and host lead each group. A normal meeting lasts for an hour and a half.
How important are Home Fellowship Groups?
Here at Fellowship in the Pass, Home Fellowship Groups are an essential part of our ministry. They're the place where people study God's Word, pray together in a small group, and share our lives with one another. It is here that people become a part and find the support they need. Our goal is to have a least 70% of our adults involved on a weekly basis.
When & where do they meet?
Home Fellowship Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the Pass Area. The days, times and locations are posted on the Web site and available at our visitors' booth.
How long do they last?
Each Home Fellowship Group lasts about an hour and a half and meets throughout the fall, winter and spring. Almost all take the summer off.
What is the required commitment?
Joining a Home Fellowship Group requires a commitment to regularly attend weekly meetings, build trusting relationships and honor confidentiality. This commitment is the key to a strong group.
What will we study?
Many of the studies are based on the previous weekend's sermon by the pastor. These "sermon-based" groups allow one to ask questions and discuss how the sermon works out in real life. Other groups focus on different topics or books of the Bible.
What is a Sermon-based Home Fellowship Group?
The sermon-based home fellowship was born out of a desire to strengthen our understanding and application of Scripture already being taught. Rather than adding "one more Bible study", it simply re-visits the Sunday morning message-allowing for questions, discussion and application.
What about childcare?
Childcare is provided at the church for groups that need it.
How do I choose a Group?
Using the information on the web site or at the information booth, you may want to select one similar in age or place in life. Most find this the best way to find a place that they feel at home and fit in. However, you may attend any group you wish.
How do I sign up for a Group?
You may call one of the numbers listed beside the Home Fellowship Group or you may call the church office.

Men's Ministries

The men of this Body seek to minister to one another through a variety of events and activities. These include a monthly breakfast, Father-Daughter Banquet, Father-Son Campout, as well as retreats and conferences. These are open to anyone and are used as an outreach tool.

The Men's Prayer Breakfast meets every month on the second Saturday of each month, from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. in the church MPR. Cost of the breakfast is $5.00. You can sign-up at the Connection Center or use this link to sign-up via the web site. Come join us for a time of great devotion and prayer.

Women's Ministries

Our purpose is to provide activities and opportunities to encourage all women to know Christ, His Word and to find joy and contentment as they develop their God-given abilities for His glory. We do this in a variety of ways. Check out your interests! If you're interested in serving in the Women's Ministries, contact Janet Price.

Various activities are used to meet this goal:

Senior Adult Ministries

The Mature Active Adult ministry at Fellowship In The Pass has a defined purpose for all our events and ministries. The theme of our ministry is "Building Bridges".

Our purpose is to: "Create avenues and build bridges through relationships and events that will meet the needs and concerns of those in our sphere of influence. Everything we do is for the purpose of leading others to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to show them the love of Christ in our own hearts."

Our vision is: "for us to use the resources available to each one of us to minister in such a way as to encourage and comfort those we come in contact with. Each of us will use our talents and gifts to build bridges of relationships and minister in such a way as to make a difference in our communities and neighborhoods. We will design our events and ministries to meet the schedules of those active seniors so that they can be involved and fulfill God's Word."

Within our Active Adult ministry we have several types of ministries that are designed for active adults. These include:

You can be involved to the extent you are able and to the extent you are available. Many of our group travel, so our ministries are designed to accommodate their active lifestyles. Ministries are designed with a team concept, allowing each person the freedom to be involved as his or her schedule allows. Would you like to serve on our planning committee? We meet several times a year and plan events, trips and ministry ideas.

Our Card Ministry sends out cards to those that are having an anniversary, birthday or special occasion. We also send out cards to those that are not feeling well or are having surgery. These are done every month and at special occasions. If you would like some information about our card ministry, please contact the church office.

Our Visitation Ministry visits people within our Church family and those outside of the Church. We visit those in the hospital, nursing homes, shut-ins, those that visit our Church, those that are not feeling well and those that are scheduled for surgery and the regular attendees of our Church. Some of our visitation teams only visit the shut-ins, others visit the visitors to our Church, and some go to the hospital. You are welcome to visit the groups you are comfortable visiting. If you would like to be a part of this ministry or would like more information about the needs and how you can help, please call the church office.

Our Gift Ministry is one that can be done on your own time and at your own location. We give each person we visit in our visitation program a little gift. Some have made small handmade gifts; others have purchased a cup and put a little stuffed animal inside. Some of our men have made things out of wood. One made little birdhouses. It does not matter what the gift is, they are all appreciated so much. This is something you can do at your leisure and can be done anywhere at any time.

Our Home Fellowships meet on different days of the week. These groups meet in homes for the purpose of fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. We encourage everyone to be involved in a small group, where they can minister to others in the Church and be ministered to. Call the Church office for more information.

Each month we gather for various events. We visit museums, theaters, and a variety of interesting locations throughout Southern California. Each year we take a week-long trip to a destination in the United States. Every other month we have an in-house event at the Church, such as a game night, banquet, movie night, etc. We are a very active group and would love for you to join us.
